New Carlow football manager Niall Carew says there’s no scientific approach to returning to training after months of lockdown, you just get stuck into it.
Carlow’s intercounty teams returned to training last week as restrictions were eased and they’re preparing for their opening league game away to Waterford on Saturday 15th of May.
The footballers only have two league games this year but Niall says the championship is their main priority.
Niall told the Clash Act podcast here on scoreline that they’ve just got stuck into training and see how it goes.
“It’s new to everyone coming back, so to try and get things right, there’s no scientific approach to this one, you’re either very cautious or throw caution to the wind and try and get yourself in the best shape possible for the first league match against Waterford, I suppose we threw caution to the wind and we said look, we’ll just go right at it within reason, and so far so good,” he said.
