Brian Cody says the Under-21 contingent who are in with the Senior panel are of high quality particularly Billy Ryan.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s Qualifier at home to Limerick, Brian says the spirit and strength of depth within the panel is as strong as ever.
“Certainly, I would always have huge confidence in our panel of players”
“The panel of players are putting in great work and as ever, there is a terrific spirit there so I would always have a huge confidence in the players we have available to us”
“Well Billy Ryan has been in training with us. Lots of Under-21 players have been in with us and Billy is one of those players”
“Again, Billy did very very well against Dublin, but an awful lot of others players are some very very good quality players in the Under-21 panel and we are very well aware of all those players and quite a number of them have been involved in our training sessions during the year”
Brian Cody also said he continues to have faith in his panel despite an indifferent run of results in 2017.
He told KCLR that they are concentrating on one game at a time….
“I always feel that we have a strong panel and that there is competition for places in the panel and that’s a healthy way to have it”
“I mean our concern is about just working away with the players we have. Like I said, there wouldn’t be much point in me having confidence in the panel in the players we have if we think it’s going to take us a long long time to be successful”
“We are not thinking beyond the game, we are thinking from the point of view of Saturday, so we are not even thinking beyond that so we are not certainly thinking long-term at the moment we are just facing the challenge that is front of us”
We have live commentary of Kilkenny V Limerick this Saturday from 7pm.
