Jezki’s Cheltenham entry to be clarified after Saturday’s meeting at Gowran

Jessica Harrington

Jessica Harrington said that Saturday’s Red Mills Hurdle in Gowran Park will tell a lot more as to where Jezki will head to for the Cheltenham Festival.

The 2014 Champion Hurdle winner is entered for both the Champion Hurdle and the World Hurdle, and Jessica says he has plenty of time to recover from injury which ruled him out for all of last season.

“He worked after Racing in Naas and we were very happy with him and he goes to Gowran on Saturday. All seems to be well and he has had plenty of time and I think that’s the main thing, time. Saturday will tell us a lot more.

“I am very much looking forward to him running. He has been coming back from injury, he had a race there at Navan say three weeks ago. This is the next sort of natural progression stepping stone.

“He missed the whole of last season, he was given plenty of time and touching wood and everything, he gets through the race on Saturday in good form, then we can make a decision whether he goes to Cheltenham and if he goes, which race he goes for.”
