Carlow Senior Hurlers bounced back in style from their opening round defeat in the Christy Ring Cup to comfortably defeat Mayo on Saturday at Netwatch Cullen Park.
Two goals from Kevin McDonald and another from James Doyle gave Carlow a commanding 3-13 to 0-2 lead at the interval.
In the second half Marty Kavanagh also hit the onion bag along with another major from Doyle, while Mayo found the net late on via Joseph McManus and Kenny Feeney.
In the end it finished Carlow 5-18, Mayo 2-7.
