Freebooters manager David Butler says it’s a big worry that they have played very little football since the turn of the year.
Booters will win the Premier Division if they defeat City neighbours Evergreen tomorrow evening(Saturday) and speaking to KCLR, David says that has been their only motivation in training the past few months.
“My biggest worry at the moment is the fact that we have not been playing that much especially since the new year. It’s just the way I suppose the League format is. There is not many teams in the League anymore, down to Evergreen probably been so successful in outside competition.
“It’s the reason why we haven’t been able to play this fixture now till the last weekend of May so this is probably going to be the game, this is probably going to be fixture that is going to decide the League so it’s been our motivation.
“It’s the only thing that has really kept us going now the last few months, tipping away at training and stuff like that so there is going to be no excuses after Saturday, the best team will win or whoever is the most hungriest is going to win the game.”
It’s always a tasty affair between Freebooters and Evergreen and this one will be no different.
Kick off on the Fair Green is at 6.30pm.
