Kilkenny Under-21 forward Alan Murphy says having someone of Eddie Brennan’s experience as manager is a major help as they look to win their first provincial title since 2012.
He was speaking ahead of Wednesday nights Leinster Final against Wexford in Nowlan Park.
Alan says the squad would have looked up to Eddie as a player….
“Especially myself as a forward like. I suppose everyone of us would have looked up to him in through the 00s, he was part of one of the better teams around and it’s definitely nice to have Eddie involved”
“Someone who has seen it all, done it all and he is always a help there especially as a forward for whatever you need like”
“If you are not sure of anything, Eddie as a forward probably one of the best know hows around. He was always around, well able to finish himself so it’s nice to have Eddie around, it’s nice to have a figure like himself around showing the ropes anyway”
Meanwhile Wexford Under-21 hurler Harry O’Connor says that the venue doesn’t matter to them as they travel to Nowlan Park for Wednesdays Leinster Under-21 Final against Kilkenny.
Speaking ahead of the game, Harry says they are firmly focused on the task at hand….
“Yeah absolutely, that’s the beauty of Under-21. If you play a team at home one year, that means you play them away the following year”
“Look, it doesn’t matter where the match is played for us, we are just focused on the game itself”
“Shouldn’t be too much a factor. Yeah, obviously, I haven’t played in Nowlan Park myself, obviously it’s a great place, there is a huge excitement about it, I suppose it’s one of the homes of hurling too so yeah, looking forward to it and again venue doesn’t really matter, we are just looking forward to the game really”
