Rower-Inistioge Senior hurling manager Peter Queally says this time of the year is all about timing and getting a run going.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Friday evening’s clash against O’Loughlin Gaels, Peter admits it’s been difficult to get going again after a three-month lay-off…..

“Ah sure look it is, it’s very hard to get the timing right as regards peaking and taking breaks and coming back again and trying to pick up where you left off”

“It’s all about timing really. The team that can time it to peak at this time of the year will go a long way towards winning it, so while we didn’t set the world on fire in our first three games, this is the time now to get the form and get a run going”

Meanwhile O’Loughin Gaels Senior Hurling manager Aidan Fogarty says that trying to fill the 12 week gap since their last competitive game has been difficult.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of tomorrow evening’s (Friday) clash against Rower-Inistioge, Aidan says the last three months have been a trying period for every club…..

“It’s been a 12 week gap since we played our last game on the 20th of May so to fill those 12 weeks, it has been difficult”
“We have played challenge matches, we have played Byrne Cup, we have had training sessions, we have taken a couple of weeks off so it has been a difficult time I think for every club”

“It’s not the ideal situation to have such a gap because I think every player likes to be playing during these Summer months and unfortunately this year that hasn’t happened from May up to next weekend”
