Former Kilkenny Senior Hurler Christy Heffernan has described the late Tony Keady as a great hurler and a great character.
The Former Galway Centre-back passed away early this morning having suffered a heart attack on Tuesday night, and speaking to KCLR, Christy says that Tommy possessed all the attributes that a great centre-back should….
“He was a great hurler. He was very energetic, he was strong, he was fair, he was tough, all you want in any Kilkenny number 6, he was good or better than most I came up against”
“He was a character as well, a very likeable fellow, I became friends with him the last number of years through Noel Lane and Peter Murphy and a few lads I play Golf over in Galway, I have to say we had some great evenings together after 19 holes playing Golf”
