Kilkenny’s latest stint in the top tier of junior rugby came to an end in March of this year having experienced two testing campaigns in Division 1A along with a change of head coach. Bonus points kept the Foulkstown men in touch with the middle of the table for a spell but with just three win to their account by the end of the season, staying up was going to be a task.
Finishing bottom of the table with 22 points from 14 games, Kilkenny will spend 2017/18 in Division 1B, a grouping where they coasted under Steve Ashmore three seasons ago, taking the league title as well as sealing a final berth for the Provincial Towns Cup.
Here’s how their fixtures look for the season ahead.
