Carlow sprinter Marcus Lawler heads off to the World University games in Taipei today.
The 22 year old has made a recovery from a hamstring injury he picked up after the European Team Championships.
Its been a good year so far for the local man with a new Irish under-23 record set in June, the third fastest 100m time ever by an Irish runner.
Also in June, he set a personal best for the 200m, at the European Team Championships, the fifth fastest Irishman ever over that distance.
