Seanie Maguire will have to wait for his chance to pull on the green shirt at senior level.
Included in the original training squad for Ireland’s upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Serbia next week, Maguire was one of the names tripped by Martin O’Neill on Monday afternoon.
While Maguire won’t feature, the same can be said for James McCarthy (hamstring), Jeff Hendrick (quad) and Eunan O’Kane (groin).
Ireland’s forward line instead will be driven by Shane Long, Daryl Murphy, David McGoldrick and Jon Walters, although Walters didn’t take part in full training on Monday with an ankle concern.
