Team Kilkenny get their National League campaign started on the road this weekend as they travel to Cork on Sunday to face Blue Demons at the Mardyke Arena.
It was a high-scoring thriller in last season’s league clash in Cork, Kilkenny coming away with a 106-99 win in January only to be beaten by a near similar margin in the cup semi-final a week later.
With little between the teams on both occasions, this fixture should make for a fiery start to the 2015/16 campaign.
For local fans interested in heading to the game, there will be a bus leaving the Eurospar carpark at 11am on Sunday morning, return tickets €10. It’s a chance to travel down with the players and support Team Kilkenny in their first fixture of the season. Seats can be reserved by contacting Damien Brett, club PRO, on 085 8207893.
The game tips off at 3.15pm.
Elsewhere in the Men’s First Division, Keane’s Supervalu Killorglin host IT Carlow in Killorglin, Neptune BC host Fr. Mathews, Titans BC host KUBS and Kestrels take on Maree BC.
Kilkenny’s Marble City Hawks are away to NUIG Kingfisher Mystics on Saturday at 2pm.
