St. Patricks Ballyragget forward Joe Brennan says they played the 2nd half of Sunday’s Intermediate County Final as if their lives depended on it.
Speaking to KCLR after coming from behind to defeat Graigue-Ballycallan, Joe says they stood up and were counted when it mattered the most.
“I think starting off we were a bit nervous, we were a bit tense, we didn’t really open up.
“We just said at half-time that we are not going to let this opportunity pass. It’s half an hour, we are just going to stand up and be men, we did that in the 2nd half so we are just delighted.
“I think there was 8 different scorers there, I think coming into the match Jim Lyng was saying the last day Kevin (Kelly)scored something like 3-11 which was unbelievable like, but we couldn’t expect Kevin to score 3-11 every day so it was up to all the rest of us to stand up.
“It’s a 15-20 man game so everyone stood up today,” he said.
