Kilkenny Oscar Traynor Joint manager Jim Cashin says there has been no preparations for Saturday’s clash away to the Leinster Senior League.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s game, Jim says they have only found about the fixture the past two weeks….
“Preparations been realistic, there hasn’t been any preparations purely and simply because originally they drew groups of four and originally it was supposed to commence in August and sure next thing, there was no sign of it starting and then they contacted the different counties and asked them would they be interested in changing the format and turning it into a straight knock-out so it was up in the air there”
“We only got confirmation there two weeks ago for the fixture for this weekend so preparations wise there has been no preparation as such, but we got a very positive response from the majority of players that we have approached, so we are going up there Saturday with what we consider to be a very strong squad and hopefully good enough to do the business”
