Outgoing Carlow Camogie Secretary Linda Kenny says it’s very difficult for Clubs to get people to work at County Board level.

Linda will vacate her position as Secretary under the 5-year-ruling and speaking to KCLR, she says there is an advantage with the existing 5-year-rule.

“These rules are there for a reason and it’s good for the transparency, it’s good for governance that you do only serve 5 years in these positions and maybe sometimes you need fresh approaches”, said Kenny on Tuesday.

“I understand where the Camogie Association and the GAA are coming from. There are not many people within Carlow. The clubs are struggling to get people to work at club level and to get people to work at county board level is quite difficult so I suppose there is a nomination for the position of the secretary but it’s very hard to get people to work in those positions.”

Carlow Camogie will hold their annual convention in Reddy’s of Carlow, Monday 4 December at 7.30pm.
