Former Kilkenny Senior Hurling manager Kevin Fennelly says it’s an absolute disgrace that players are having to play so many games at this time of year.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Kilkenny’s 2nd game in the National League on Sunday at home to Clare, Kevin says The GPA should urgently look at player burnout and specifically prioritizing the Club scene.

“I think it’s absolutely crazy. It’s very unfair to players. It’s going to come to an end at some stage, and the quicker clubs get together and get some representation to talk to them lads in Croke Park who are getting paid to make these decisions, the better.

“There will be no club, the way it is going and it’s time someone stood up. They have a GPA up there looking after players, they have no bit of interest in anything only county players, and they are the same as the GAA, it’s all about county at the moment, nothing about clubs and I can tell you, it won’t last,” he said.
