Meath Senior Hurling manager Nick Fitzgerald doesn’t expect their League clash at home to Carlow on Sunday to go ahead in Navan as planned.
The Meath and Cork Football League match is scheduled to be played after the Hurling match on Sunday, and speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s scheduled League clash, Nick says the weather conditions over the past week wouldn’t make it ideal for a double header.
“Preparations were severely hampered for the last week. We lost the whole of last week with the weather, but look I suppose we are probably no different to most counties in terms of been affected by the bad weather.
“We were back up and running this week again and we are preparing for Carlow on Sunday.
“The only concern I would have for Sunday is I don’t think the double header will ahead as planned if I am honest, I would expect the hurling match to be played at a another venue because I don’t think any pitch will take a double header at this stage,” he said.
