Kilkenny Oscar Traynor League Joint manager Jim Cashin says their squad is suited perfectly for playing on a Astroturf surface.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Quarter-Final clash at home to the Innisowen League, Jim is delighted to be playing on Evergreen’s surface…..

“We agreed at the very start when we went to the League after we qualified before we even know we were playing the Innisowen League, we agreed that we wanted to play on the Evergreen’s pitch out on the Astroturf out in Evergreen”

“It suits our lads, our lads are made for Astroturf, they played extremely well on it the last day up in Navan”

“They are well used to it so we would have been playing on Astroturf on Sunday regardless of the weather”

“The fact that the weather has turned the way it has, we probably would have had to divert it to the Astroturf anyway, but we were always going to play on it so the weather wasn’t going to affect us one way or the other”
