Puck-outs from Eoin Murphy against Dublin could be heading towards Richie Hogan and Colin Fennelly.
The Kilkenny senior goalkeeper reckons it’s very likely Hogan, Fennelly and Paul Murphy will all feature for the Cats in Sunday weeks Leinster Championship opener against Dublin.
Brian Cody’s men are on the road to Parnell Park to kick off this summer’s championship.
Speaking at last week’s Leinster Championship launch, Eoin says the three lads have been doing a lot training to try and get themselves right.
“Richie Hogan is trying to target the Dublin game as well so he has been back in training for us”, says Murphy.
“Now he has obviously missed a lot of heavy training, a lot of hurling training so to get that sharpness he will need a couple of weeks in. Similar enough to Paul and Colin, they are actually back in the set-up there too.”
“They have been training over there (in reference to the duos recent army duties overseas). Again, that pace, your match sharpness and stuff like that, it will take a couple of weeks there.”
“We feel we have two or three guys fighting for each position, it’s human nature I suppose, once there is a bit of competition, it brings out the best in guys and that’s what we want exactly in training.”
We’ll have live coverage of Kilkenny v Dublin with Oisin Langan on commentary duty. Throw-in is set for 2pm on Sunday 13 May.
