There were rumours circulating at BAMMA that he had another big fight in the offing, those stories confirmed by the contract signing photos released today.
Brave Combat Federation
Brave 13 takes place in Belfast’s SSE Arena. The Kilkenny man was due to fight at the same venue in February 2017 against then Lonsdale Lightweight champion Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee (7-1-1) at BAMMA 28.
This is the first event in Europe for Brave, based out of Bahrain, and makes Northern Ireland the ninth country to host a Brave event.
“The rapid expansion of Brave Combat Federation owes to the leadership and foresight of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to establish mixed martial arts as a global sports that crosses barriers of geographies and languages”, says Brave president, Mohammed Shahid.
“We are glad that our initiatives were successful in making a definitive impact upon the global mixed martial arts community and changed the sport for fighters around the world. We are committed to keep going at the same pace as aggressive as ever.”
Already confirmed for the Brave 13 card is Stephen ‘The Sniper’ Loman who’ll face Frans Mlambo (SBG Ireland). They’ll square off for the second time, on this occasion for Loman’s Bantamweight title.
Another fight reportedly in the works sees Erik Carlsson (6-3) take on Abdul Kareem al Selwady (9-1).
Ticket details will be published by the SSE Arena shortly.
We’ll be covering the build up to Brave 13 in Belfast between here and fight night – supporting local athletes in their sport.
