Former Carlow and Mt. Leinster Rangers Hurler and Footballer James Hickey says that the Dublin Senior Footballers should be made travel an awful lot more.
Dublin play Wicklow in the Leinster Senior Championship on Sunday in Portlaoise, and speaking to KCLR, James says the Metropolitans are treated differently in contrast to every other county.
Laois were forced to play Dublin in Nowlan Park in 2016 but that since changed.
“Last year, Dublin were drawn against Carlow and all of a sudden O’Moore Park was big enough and they had the same amount of season ticket holders.
“Its farcical, the GAA are making it up as they go along, they are babysitting Dublin, and they are giving Dublin everything that is going.
“Dublin are definitely treated totally out on their own compared to every other county.
“Dublin should be made go on the road a lot more and should be made go to Wicklow and they should have came down to Carlow last year,” he said.
There is a lot of merit in what Hickey says here.
