Former Kildare Senior Footballer Karl O’Dwyer says Carlow will put it up to Kildare in Sunday’s Leinster Championship clash.
Speaking to KCLR, Karl says their style of play has worked very effectively.
“I wouldn’t be a fan of their style of play, but I think it’s been very effective in the sense they have managed to keep scores down and they are able to get enough scores up on the other side to remain really competitive.
“It’s certainly working for them, I suppose one thing I would be worried about on Sunday is if Carlow get ahead on Sunday, Kildare might get a bit frustrated and the fact they haven’t won too many competitive games in the last year or so, that could come against them.
“There’s no doubt Carlow have improved hugely and I would see them doing very well in Division 3 next and I can certainly see them doing well on Sunday,” he said.
The former Old Leighlin and Palatine Boss also thinks they game should be in Newbridge or Carlow and feels for Wicklow as well.
“I think the County Boards and the people that have a bit of money up in Croke Park, they would be better off spending it a little more wisely on coaches and stuff and that rather financial matters and stuff like that.
“Even the weekend there you see Wicklow are playing Dublin in Portlaoise, that’s crazy, that game should of been down in Aughrim.
“The Kildare Carlow game on Sunday should be in Dr. Cullen Park or should have been in Newbridge, but it’s all money, it’s all finance.
“It would have been a great promotion the weekend if the game was in Netwatch Cullen Park you would have 10 or 15,000 people there,” he concluded.
Throw in Sunday is at 2pm in Tullamore.
