Kilkenny doing well for “a team in transition”, says Adrian Ronan

Former Kilkenny senior hurler and KCLR analyst Adrian Ronan reckons Kilkenny are doing very well for a team in transition.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Leinster Final, Adrian says that Kilkenny are as good as the chasing pack behind Galway.

“It’s very clear where Brian Cody is involved in the team and what he expects”, said Ronan on Tuesday.

“He expects to win, he expects to play at the optimum, he expects that the Kilkenny guys will go out to win. They don’t go out to play second.”

“I suppose form and the bookies will tell you that Galway are certainly the form team to beat. They (Galway) are ahead of everybody else. They seem to be bigger, stronger, faster, fitter. Have they peaked early? I’m not too sure, that will I suppose remains to be seen.”

“Certainly the rest of the teams are in the chasing bunch. We are as good now as the rest of the teams, that’s for sure and yes we have our faults and yes we have a lot to learn. We are still in transition but yet, we are a team in transition after winning the League Final and in a Leinster Final. That’s fair going for a team that’s in transition.”

Adrian Ronan joins Oisin Langan for full commentary and analysis of Kilkenny v Galway, live this Sunday from Croke Park at 4pm.

Sunday’s game is brought to you with thanks to Laharts Volkswagen Kilkenny.
