Westmeath boss Michael Ryan has been praising Carlow’s forward line ahead of Sunday’s Joe McDonagh Cup Final.
Speaking to KCLR Fanzone ahead of this weekend’s clash, Ryan has hailed Carlow as a top quality outfit, with any of the players potential match winners.
“Well first of all, Carlow have six very good forwards and they are much better hurlers than people give them credit for”, says Ryan.
“The thing about Carlow is you tie down one or two guys, and somebody else will pop up. Their full-forward line the last day inflicted a lot of damage on us and it’s something that we are going to have to do something about – if we are able, easier said than done.”
The Barrowsiders got the better of the Lake County on a 3-21 to 1-21 scoreline at Netwatch Cullen Park earlier this month to book their place in the final.
“It isn’t just about the three guys inside in the full-forward line, you’ve got to look at the supply of the ball coming into them and you have got to look at every other aspect from the goalkeeper out to number 15 and indeed the five subs that come on”, continued Ryan.
“There is a lot of ingredients inside in the package and when you add them all up, you hopefully come out on the right end of it.”
