Mount Leinster Rangers manager Brendan Fennelly says it’s a difficult balancing act trying to combine Hurling and Football.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of their opening Senior Hurling Championship clash against Ballinkillen on Sunday evening, Brendan says it can be difficult for the non Inter-County players to motivate themselves during the height of the holiday season.

“In fairness to our lads in Carlow they compete in Football Championship as well and they are out every weekend.

“Ok, there is only 4 teams in the hurling, but quite a few of the clubs will be dual clubs there so there’s a lot of football going on in Carlow as well.

“We’re trying to do a balancing act between Football and Hurling now at this time of the year as well, and trying to stay injury free as best we can,” he said.
