Mullinavat Senior Hurler Willie O’Dwyer, says it took themselves and Carrickshock a while to get up to the pace of the game in yesterday’s League clash in Piltown.
Mullinavat emerged victorious 1-18 to 1-15, and speaking to KCLR after the game, Willie says it was a good workout for both teams after the long extended break.
“It’s our first competitive game in 17 or 18 weeks and it takes a while to get back up to the speed of it.
“You can play all the challenge matches and the O’Byrne Cup matches, but this is a different tempo and the physicality is a bit different as well.
“It’s starting to get up to Championship pace, and I suppose even with Carrickshock it took us a while to get up to the pace of the game,” he said.
