Dicksboro Senior Hurling manager Mark Dowling says that Cillian Buckley needs an extended rest to recover from a knee injury which he sustained earlier in the year.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s clash against St. Patricks Ballyragget, Mark says he couldn’t pick a timeline as to when Cillian will return to action.
“Genuinely, I don’t know. He certainly won’t play in the League and we are just kind of taking it week by week with the injury.
“It’s an injury that needs rest and it’s been at him since March. We didn’t play him in the first game in April due to the injury just in order to give it a rest.
“Obviously he had a very busy schedule with Kilkenny. He came back with this knee injury in bad shape so I would like to think that it’s improving but genuinely, I couldn’t put any timeline on it.
“The medical team that are working with it can’t (provide a timeline) either, it’s just something that we have to take week by week but look we will hold out hope that Cillian sees some time in the Championship,” he said.
