St. Patrick’s Ballyragget manager Jim Lyng has been lamenting the club’s ongoing injury crisis.

Despite picking up wins in their first two games of the league, Ballyragget took a big defeat at the hands of Dicksboro last time out with Lyng admitting their injury crisis is not showing any signs of improvement.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s evening clash against James Stephens, Jim says despite the injury crisis he does have faith in the panel.

“The biggest issue for us since we returned to this series is that we have had really significant injuries right down the spine of our team”, says Lyng.

“When Kevin (Kelly) came off the last day against Dicksboro, I think it was seven of our All-Ireland team were unavailable to us.”

“Unfortunately, the situation isn’t showing any signs of improving in the short term.”

While the injuries have mounted up, Lyng still has confidence the greater panel of players can get the job done when required.

“That’s what we have a panel of players for and it’s giving us a great opportunity to look at out panel in depth and we will be very confident that the team that goes out on Sunday will be quite capable of giving a really good performance.”

St. Patrick’s Ballyragget meet James Stephens this coming Sunday at Castlecomer in round 4 of the league. Throw-in is set for 6.15pm.
