James Stephens hoping scoring difference doesn’t come into play after weekends games

James Stephens Club Secretary Niall Connolly is hoping the fact they didn’t defeat St. Patricks Ballyragget by a greater margin last Sunday won’t prove costly if scoring difference comes into play after the final round of club games on Saturday evening.

James Stephens, Dicksboro and Mullinavat would all finish on 8 points if the trio all win their games on Saturday, and speaking to KCLR, Niall says the weather conditions last Sunday weren’t ideal to improve their scoring difference….

“Yeah, it certainly would be nice to finish on top or it would be nice to finish in the top two anyway yeah, so yeah, we had probably hoped to improve our scoring difference last weekend, but we didn’t manage to pull away from Ballyragget even though I kind if felt we were on top”

“But I suppose it was kind of a damp messy day and we just weren’t able to pull away from them and improve our scoring difference and as much as we would have liked to have done last weekend, but hopefully we will be able to get into a position to where we are in the top two or maybe even top the group at the end”
