St. Patricks Ballyragget manager Jim Lyng says there’s no better opposition to be playing than Ballyhale Shamrocks who have been the kingpins in Kilkenny Club Hurling over the past 30 years.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday evening’s First Round Championship clash, Jim says there’s expectation within the camp despite the formidable challenge ahead of them.
“Outside the camp there’s not much expectation on us, but we would certainly have expectation going into the game obviously, it’s a huge challenge, couldn’t have been bigger I suppose.
“The Shamrocks would be on most peoples shortlist probably the two or three teams that is likely to win the Championship if indeed not the outright favorites, but I mean yeah this is what the competition we ought to be playing for many years, but what better opposition to have than Ballyhale Shamrocks who are probably the renowned specialists over the last 30 years or so,” he said.
