Mullinavat Senior Forward John Walsh says they can’t afford to be giving teams space like they did to Rower-Inistioge in the first-half of Sunday’s first round game in the Senior Championship.
Mullinavat will play Bennettsbridge in the Quarter-Finals of next Sunday’s Senior Championship in Thomastown and speaking to KCLR after winning Sunday’s game, John Walsh says a 60 minute performance will be required if they are to be victorious.
“Oh absolutely, in this day and age you can’t afford to leave the likes of Richie Leahy in that kind of space because they will destroy you like.
“We will bottled them up, we kind of got our shape back, hurling is a 60 minute game and we didn’t play for 60 today, but hopefully we will the next day,” he said.
Mullinavat v Bennettsbridge is at 2pm in Thomastown next Sunday.
