Crettyard United manager Patrick Brennan says that playing matches over the Christmas/New Year period was not an issue for them as they maintained their full focus and momentum which was rewarded with successful results.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s FAI Junior Cup clash at home to Muirhevna Mor, Patrick says that last Sunday’s League clash against fellow Premier Division League contenders New Oak was a huge benefit…..
“Early on in the month of December, we were aware of what our situation was going to be so in fairness to the group of players we have, they are a very dedicated bunch as well, and they wouldn’t achieve what they have achieved if they weren’t willing to put in those efforts and the sacrifices that’s needed”
“But look I suppose last Sunday was back to League business, the first game of the New Year and it was a massive tie like, the fixtures worked out brilliantly for us with that regard coming into the outside competitions”
“To be playing a team of New Oaks calibre before you go into the outside competition games was actually a huge benefit to us and be lucky”
