Former Kilkenny Senior Hurler John Power says that TJ Reid will need greater support in attack if they are to challenge for silverware this year.
TJ and the Ballyhale Shamrocks contingent are absent as they continue their preparations for the All-Ireland Club Semi-Final, but speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Walsh Cup Semi-Final clash against Wexford, John says it’s unrealistic for one player to take all the burden…..
“He’s under a big lot of pressure”
“An ordinary display out of TJ is not enough for us anymore and it is very difficult for him to stay going and certainly he needs more help to take a back role in the team and maybe finish strong in the last 20 minutes where at the present time he is not allowed to do that”
“We need him playing at full throttle the whole time and it is very difficult in order for any player to take on so we will be hoping for TJ going forward. He still is the number one player in the country and that’s a big bonus that we have in Kilkenny”
