Connolly’s Red Mills Chief Executive Joe Connolly says that smaller trainers have a greater chance of winning the top races with the continued improvement in the economy.

Speaking to KCLR at last weeks Thyestes launch, Joe says that the opportunities are coming which gives hope to the smaller stables…..

“Well, I suppose it’s all down to firepower as I say”

“If you have the horses as Ruby (Walsh) said (at the launch), if you have the best horse you should win the race”

“But if it’s a case where you have a situation where we have smaller trainers now getting back into the business, there will certainly be (opportunites)”

“I think the opportunities are coming, all these things have a cycle and with the economy improving as it is, hopefully if Brexit goes the right way for us, that things will go on and the syndicates will come back and people will be afford to be able to buy a better horse”
