Crettyard United manager Patrick Brennan says that reaching the last 16 of the FAI Junior Cup is where they feel they should be.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of their FAI Cup clash at home to Glengad United on Sunday, Patrick says their ambitions from the start of the season were to go a long way in the competition.

He said “We are the last man standing in the FAI, but you don’t get anything for being the last man standing from your League. We want to kick on and we want to be quarter-finalists”.

“From the start of the season we were very very clear that we were so disappointed to go out of both competitions very early on last year. We just thought that this year was an opportunity to put this right”.

Patrick said “We would like to see ourselves as a team that would take a bit of beating in the outside competitions every year. To be honest, I feel where we should be at this point in time”
