Carlow Senior Hurler Seamus Murphy says the structures around the county need to improve in order to remain competitive at Senior level.
Speaking to KCLR after Sunday’s drawn match at home to Galway, Seamus says it’s important they bring through some underage talent to maintain standards.
He said “It’s a small pool that we are pulling from, the four senior teams and Alfie is there from Bagenalstown like so everyone has seven or eight plus players involved”.
“This group of players under Colm Bonnar and Pat English beforehand have really put it in (the work) and hopefully we can go further this year, but hopefully there will be something to come behind us as well because things need to pick up around the place in terms of the structure and everyone playing hurling in the county as well in our view has to spread”.
“We are doing what we can so hopefully we can build a platform and the lads keep it going” said Seamus.
