Dunnamaggin defender Noel Hickey thought he would never get back playing with his Club in Croke Park after he retired from Inter-County in 2012.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s All-Ireland Junior Club Final against Castleblayney of Monaghan, Noel says it means everything to be involved on Sunday.
He said “I retired with Kilkenny in 2012 and I never thought I would get back here playing, but even to be here today now and just to look out on the pitch is just fantastic and to get there with club now is going to be brilliant”.
Noel said “I never thought I would get back honestly, just when we got on a run this year with Dunnamaggin then and the goal at the start of the year was to win a County Final which we did which was brilliant and took on the Leinster Championship and now we are here in an All-Ireland Final and we just can’t wait for it”.
