Kilkenny Senior Hurling goalkeeper Eoin Murphy says the younger players getting their chance during the National League will stand to them greatly ahead of Championship Summer.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s League clash at home to the All-Ireland Champions, Eoin says the young players getting game time increases competition for places.
He said “Players will get chances, but from our own point of view because of the amount of players that we are missing, younger players now are getting the chances, you take it the likes of Billy Ryan, Richie Leahy and even John Donnolly and Huw Lawlor and Tommy Walsh in front of me then as well, are getting their chance and deservedly so as well”.
“Michael Cody has to come back in there and Cillian Buckley and Padraic Walsh as well out due to injury so lads are getting chances and that can only stand to them as well, the experience will tell as well hopefully in the Leinster campaign”.
