Brian Cody said that Conor Delaney performed really well on Seamie Callanan in Kilkenny’s National League victory over Tipp on Sunday.
Speaking to KCLR after Sunday’s victory, Brian says that the Kilkenny defender stuck admirably to the task against one of the top forwards in the country.
He said “It was a great chance for Conor (in that position), Paul (Murphy) is a very experienced player, but Conor playing against Seamie Callanan obviously is a huge huge challenge and what was I suppose very reassuring was while he got away, he got up and flicked the ball off his hurl a couple of times and that’s just great to see him doing that, the drive to keep going and not to drop the head and that, but overall it was genuine from all the players really”.
