Ballyhale Shamrocks Vice-Chairman Tommy Phelan says there is no way there will be defensive sweepers in the upcoming All-Ireland Club Final on St. Patricks Day.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of their final against St. Thomas, Tommy says the Final will be a 50/50 game.
He said “It’s not going to be new to them like ourselves so all that is going to be taken out of the equation so it’s going to be a very 50-50 game. Both Teams will probably just stand up and go at it”.
“I don’t think you are going to see too much tactics like extra defenders or anything like that. St Thomas don’t do it and we most certainly do it, or don’t like doing it”.
Tommy said “Anytime teams do that (sweeper), they can stop you from scoring to an extent, but then they find it very difficult to score themselves”.
