Former Offaly Senior Hurler Joe Errity says that the Midlanders weren’t that convincing last Sunday despite defeating Carlow by seven points.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s relegation play-off final between the two counties, Joe says that Offaly got the breaks last weekend, but that Sunday’s game will be a different contest.
He said “I don’t think it was overly convincing. 4-8 isn’t particularly a great score, I know conditions were terrible, and Carlow maybe a bit disappointed in the manner they conceded some of those goals, and also only getting a point off of two penalties”.
“So while Offaly might have got the result last weekend, Carlow will look at areas where they can improve on big time, and look conditions were not conducive to any type of reasonable standard of hurling either so Sunday probably going to be a bit different if the weather picks up a bit” he said.
