Young Irelands Gowran Intermediate Hurling Manager Kevin Fennelly is making no excuses for the defeat last weekend against St. Martins despite preparations been far from ideal.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s clash in Thomastown, Kevin says that not having the ideal preparation is part and parcel and something you just have to get on with.
He said “I wouldn’t be making excuses for any defeat or I wouldn’t be making little of any teams beating you in the first round of the League, I mean fair play to the teams that were ready to win in the first round like, and it shows that the players were eager and they want to get their first two points on the board and that’s part of it and every team has a way going about it”.
“Sometimes, your hands are tied, we had 5 or 6 tied up in the Kilkenny team, maybe St. Martins hadn’t as many, maybe they got a better run at it, maybe they were just better than us, I don’t know”.
