East End United Ladies Soccer Manager David Fitzpatrick is hopeful that this season’s re-start of Ladies Soccer in Kilkenny will help the Sport to grow and expand once again.
Speaking ahead of this evening’s Ladies Shield Final against Freebooters, David says there is the potential for the Ladies League to grow even more so.
He said “There was only four teams this year started in Kilkenny, but we are hoping that the likes of Newpark who have been playing in the Carlow League will come back next year and with the likes of Evergreen coming on, we will be hoping that they will have a Womens Team next year and maybe Deen Celtic”.
WWe thought there would be more but then some teams found out they wouldn’t have enough women so they didn’t actually didn’t enter into the League, but kind of hoping that they will next year with the underage coming through as well”.
