Carlow Tennis Club Chairperson Tremayne Horkan is hopeful they will get an increased entry list ahead of the start of their open week which commences on Sunday.
Speaking to KCLR, Tremayne says an awful lot of work has been produced by the Committee to ensure it’s another successful week.
“We have had an increase on our entries year on year really for the last three years and we are hopeful this year again we will have another increase on our entries”, says Horkan.
“We are aiming for 200 or more to the Senior Open, so really looking forward to it, Mary (Yates) – Tournament Director – and her team have been putting in lots of work, getting everything organized in time for our kick-start on the June 2.”
“It runs for the whole week right through to June 8 and everybody is welcome to come down and have a look, especially on finals day because there is always a great bit of energy about the club and the level of tennis is just great.”
