Kilkenny Under-20 Manager DJ Carey admits preparations over the past month have been hampered by the Leaving Cert contingent unavailable due to exam commitments.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of next Monday’s Leinster Under-20 Quarter-Final clash away to O’Moore Park, Portlaoise, DJ accepts that their build-up wasn’t going to be ideal.

He said “We really only saw most of the second level players after the April break and then obviously we had them until the middle of May, and then they had to go study so you always hoping that if you win a first round and please god we will progress well then you will get to see your players a lot more, but that’s the way it’s broken up and that’s the nature of the Under-20s”.
