Piltown native Karen Duggan says that whoever takes over as the new Ladies International Soccer Team will give players an opportunity that were overlooked for previous management.
Speaking to KCLR on Sunday Scoreline, Karen says the potential is there for the squad to qualify for the next European Championships.
She said “The timing is not ideal with Colin (Bell) leaving, but at the same time it’s an opportunity for someone to come in now, it’s going to be completely fresh and hopefully that will just kind of energize the squad”.
“It’s going to give a lot more people an opportunity that were maybe getting overlooked in the past under Colin’s regime so people are going to have to step to the mark, it’s a clean slate, the girls have an excellent chance of qualifying and if they get the right person in place, I really that they have the squad to do it so”.
