Kilkenny Minor Hurling Manager Richie Mulrooney says the fact that Galway are only playing their first Championship game of the Summer will be of no advantage at all to Kilkenny on Sunday.
Kilkenny will play their seventh game of the Championship this year, but speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s All-Ireland Minor Quarter-Final Qualifier clash, Richie says that they are in an exact similar situation now to when they played Galway at the same stage last year.
He said “We found out last year in playing Galway in Semple Stadium that the amount of matches we had behind us was absolutely no advantage at all”.
“There are two ways of looking at it that you have games played and that you have learned a lot and all of that type of thing but do remember that when we go to the field on Sunday, it will be our third match in fourteen days, Galway will be extremely fresh compared to our lads”.
