Wexford Senior Hurling Selector JJ Doyle says Kilkenny were always going to have a major say in the Championship despite their Leinster Final defeat.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Wexford’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-Final clash against Tipperary, JJ says Kilkenny proved against Cork what they are capable of.
“All you have to do is look at the Leinster Final, I mean there is a puck of the ball is all it was between us, the penalty that we got, that’s all there was in it, I mean it was nip and tuck the whole way long”.
“It’s very similar to the game in Wexford Park two weeks prior to that and all you have to do is look at the performance they put in against Cork where after the first few minutes, they blew Cork out of the water with their intensity and that’s what you know you are always going to get from Kilkenny”.
