“Kilkenny will be back” so says the outgoing manager of the county’s senior camogie squad.
Speaking at last evening’s Homecoming Ann Downey didn’t comment on the decision to resign her role in her speech. Instead she focused on thank yous – to the council, the supporters and her county board.
She also congratulated the victorious Galway side but warned that the black & amber will be making a return.
She said “We went to Croke Park yesterday full of hope, we had prepared so well, but as true Kilkenny supporters and true gaels we have to acknowledge that we met a gallant Galway team that we weren’t able to match and we congratulate them on their win and just to let you know that Kilkenny will be back and thank you everyone for your support”.
