Kilkenny’s junior hurling champions captain, Ger Aylward of Glenmore, and Kilkenny’s senior captain and Ballyhale Shamrocks club man Joey Holden will be adding to their accodales for the 2015 hurling season having scooped their first ever GAA GPA All-Star awards. Paul Murphy picks up his fourth.
Announced earlier this morning, there are seven first-time recipents of the award along with five survivors from the 2014 team. Kilkenny have the lions share of the awards following this year’s All-Ireland victory over Galway, no less than seven players recognised for their efforts this season.
Beaten finalists Galway have been awarded four positions on the coveted 15 while the remainder go to Waterford (3) and Tipperary (1) meaning a total of four counties are honoured in the selection.

We know Richie Hogan is going to be looking sharp on the telly this Friday night anyway. We’ll also find out who’s picking up Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year along with the Football All-Stars on the night.
Kilkenny had originally secured 12 nominations in the shortlist of 45 announced last month with goalkeeper Eoin Murphy, Pádraic Walsh, Kieran Joyce, Conor Fogarty and Eoin Larkin missing out.
